Kinja'd!!!

The official oppo break in procedure requires you to get into a 140MPH police chase. Then do a powerslide across the highway.

If you and your car survive, you win! Escaping jailtime is just icing on the cake!

Wouldn't matter. It's an Auto. He'd have to get a manual, otherwise the whole chase would be no good.

A 1996 Lexus ES300 (3rd-gen Camry but with some more prestige)

That's no excuse! Get a 93, run down some stop signs in front of the police and break it in!

And no dessert for you until you finish, little man!

My Z32 was just ticking over 230,000 miles when I wrecked it. I always wonder how high it would have went without being killed early. We have an early 90s Chevy pickup that has over 340,000 miles on it and is still going, but it's only used for hauling stuff now, retired a few years ago when the steering let go and sent me off a corner at 55 MPH. It's all fixed now (I think) but I don't drive it much.

Yup! Even Toyota doesn't make cars like they used to

When the pickup tried to suicide I was fine, just jammed my wrist. When the Z died I got some bumps and did a little bleeding, but it wasn't all that bad.

My brother-in-law's Silverado is well into the 200's, in fact it's got to be close to 300 these days. Maybe I'll ask him when I see him tomorrow.

It's easy to keep engines like the Chevy 350 running... their tolerances were give or take a 1/4 inch. What other engine makes consider leaks, Chevy considered pressure relief ;) That poor old thing will probably run up to the point the body rusts off of it and it's transplanted into something else.

Yeah, he takes good care of it, it still looks pretty nice, and the Seattle climate is pretty easy on cars relative to other parts of the country.
